It was about time.

Hey Tumblr,

This is my first published personal blog post ever.

I finally came to a conclusion. After asking myself several questions:

- Shall I start a blog?

- How far can I go in my story?

- In English or French?

- About me? Writing? Photography? Cooking? San Francisco? Paris? the Food Network?

- What about privacy?

- After opening several word documents named “blog”, “about me”, “blog ideas”, “mademoisellesarah.com”, “observing stuff?”.

- After reading all the blog posts ever written on how to choose between Tumblr or Wordpress.

- Thinking of several names. Opening a Tumblr. Buying an url. Switching to Wordpress. Wanting a Tumblr. Trying to transfer the “A-record” and reading about Manual DNS. Yes, all by myself.

- After saying, ok, it’ll be live for Rosh Hashanah. ok, it’ll be live for Thanksgiving. ok, it’ll be live before the end of 2011. ok, it’ll be live on the first day of January.

- After trying on several themes. And testing all their customization features.

After all this, and actually a lot more (I opened a Tumblr and not a Wordpress, so I’ll spare you)… I came to a conclusion. Food is so important in my life that I think of metaphors of French cooking whenever I question something.

BLOGGIN’ IS LIKE MAKING CREPES.

YOU NEVER REALLY SERVE THE FIRST ONE.

You keep it to yourself. You taste it, judge the batter. It’s thick. It has a weird shape. YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE IT, hoping that the next ones will be better…And, in the end, it’s really the filling that counts.

Dear readers, we’re January 17th, 2012. And my blog is finally live.

I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Love,

Mademoiselle Sarah
